BOYD, Gordon Harris (Sonny) – It is with great sorrow that we announce the death of Gord Boyd, Dec 3, 1940 – May 5, 2016. Gord was a loving husband to Sharon for 30 years. He is survived by his daughters, Michelle (Greg), and Jennifer (Fred) and his step-children Brenda (Tim), Karen (John) and Jason (Sue). Dear Grampa / Papa to Zachery, Chantelle, Michael, Ricky, C.J. Spencer, Meghan, Deanna and Justin. Devoted Great Papa to Adam and Brody. Loved brother of Shirley (deceased), Mort (Pat), Jane (Tom deceased). Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Pre- deceased by his parents Catherine and Gordon Sr. Gord’s passion in life was the 50+ years of refereeing hockey, known in his hockey life as “Sonny”. He also had a passion for gardening. Gord worked at the John Noble Home for many years, retiring in 2000. Gord leaves behind his many friends at Queensway Baptist Church and Dornia Manor Apt. where he and Sharon have lived for the past 1.5 years. There will be a brief service in the sanctuary at Queensway Baptist Church on Saturday May 14th at 11 a.m. 211 St. George St Brantford, followed by a gathering for all friends and family to share memories and stories. Cremation has taken place.
