Jean Arsenault (nee Desroches)

March 21, 1938 – July 23, 2025

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jean Arsenault (nee Desroches), on July 23, 2025, at the age of 87. Jean fought courageously till the end, though her health had been declining in recent weeks. The day before her passing, Jean was surrounded by love, enjoying a wonderful day filled with visitors and phone calls, and sharing plenty of laughter — one of her most cherished joys.

The past four years without Eric, the love of her life, had been especially difficult for Jean. Married for 62 years, Jean and Eric shared a deep bond that never wavered, and his loss left a profound emptiness in her heart.

Jean was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family meant everything to her, and she treasured every moment spent with them. Her home was always open, and she found great joy in visits and calls from family and close friends. Jean’s laughter was contagious, and her love for singing, jigsaw puzzles, and walks and drives brought her comfort in her later years. In her younger days, Jean was known for her baking skills, and the warm, comforting scents of fresh bread, pies, and cakes would often fill her home.

Born to Lucien and Florida Desroches (nee Marion), Jean is survived by her daughter Sharon (John), sons Robert (Linda) and Edward (Karen); grandchildren Eric, Jessica, Dylan, Kody, and Troy; great-granddaughters Ivy and Willow; and her brother Edward (Emma). Jean was predeceased by her parents and siblings: Nazaire (Lucienne), Edna (Jack), Remi (Lill), Alex (Dorothy), Thelma (Bud), Irma (Bert), and Florida (Edmond and Lionel).

Jean will forever be loved, missed, and cherished by all who knew her. Her memory will live on in our hearts, a guiding light of love and joy.

Jean has been laid to rest at St. John’s Dixie Cemetery, where she will find peace, reunited with Eric and all those she loved.

Rest in peace, Jean. You will be dearly missed.
