ARANYOSI, John Peter Sr.

July 13, 1946 – January 10, 2022

It is with profound sadness that our family announces the passing of Johnny on January 10, 2022 at the age of 75 at the Brantford General Hospital, Palliative Care Unit. Johnny fought a lengthy battle of numerous health issues over the years.

“Until Death Do Us Part” Beloved husband of Maida for over 50 years. Loving father of Tanya Cunningham (Larry) and John Jr. (Sara). Proud Papa of Brooke & Coleton Cunningham and Ella Aranyosi. Predeceased by parents Peter and Mary Aranyosi, and father and mother-in-law Peter and Beatrice Lucek.

Johnny was a member of the Ontario Harness Horse Association and in his younger years owned and trained standardbred horses. He was a Blacksmith by trade and shod many horses in the Brantford area. Johnny enjoyed fishing, boating and going to the cottage in Port Elgin. In his later years he rekindled his love of muscle cars and purchased his original 1967 Ford Fairlane GT which was restored to mint condition. Every weekend we enjoyed attending car shows with our good friends.

Johnny will be greatly missed by his family, friends and his dog Brandy.

In accordance with Johnny’s wishes cremation has taken place. There will be a celebration of life at a later date.

The family would like to thank the numerous Community Care Support Services, which include VON Nurses, Physiotherapist Tom, Lifelab Nurse Lynn, and PSW’s especially Gladys for all your care during Johnny’s time at home. We also would like to thank the nurses, PSW’s, and doctors of the BGH Emergency and Palliative Care Unit for their care.

Memorial donations in Johnny’s memory to Heart & Stroke Foundation, The Amputee Coalition of Canada, Diabetes Canada or Brantford General Hospital Building Fund would be appreciated by the family.
