Ando, Noriko
In Loving Memory of Noriko Ando (Nakayama)
October 1, 1963 – October 6, 2015
Born in Tokyo and raised in Yokohama, Japan, as a beloved only daughter to late Sumi and Fukuichiro Nakayama. Noriko lived short but highly achieved life as an administrative/ accounting executive, children’s Japanese teacher, and ski instructor. Noriko will be remembered for her vitality, determination, beautiful smile and ageless charm.
Noriko loved classical music, played and taught piano and enjoyed variety of sports – tennis, golfing, and skiing. Her love for ski guided her way to Wisler, B.C. where young Noriko couched many skiers as a certified instructor. In her professional life, she led her cooperate administration and accounting team as national level director at Nippon Express Canada ltd.
Being an alumna of prestigious Waseda University in Japan with a degree in Education, her passion and true calling was to teach children – Noriko taught many children at Nikka Gakuen, Japanese language school in Scarborough, Ontario, on every Saturday morning for almost 10 years – until the illness forced her to take a leave from the position in 2014.
Most importantly, Noriko was a loving and proud mother of her two wonderful sons, Kailo and Taiga. They were the true source of her joy, reason to battle the illness, and hope for future.
She passed away peacefully at the age of 52, in the palliative care unit at the Credit Valley Hospital (Trillium Health Partners), Mississauga, Ontario, in the early afternoon on October the 6th, 2015, while both sons held her hands and many friends stood by.

突然の悲報を受けとても信じられない思いでいます。都合でご葬儀に伺うことができず申し訳ありません。安藤先生との想い出はいつも笑顔が絶えない会話ばかりです。日加学園で下のお子様を担任した時は、私にとって初めての年で経験未熟な私を温かく見守っていただき感謝しております。生前のお姿を偲び、心よりご冥福をお祈りいたします。
典子さん、早すぎるお別れでとても悲しいです。
典子さんの笑顔を見ると、一緒に笑ったことや、話をして下さったことなど、たくさん思い出され、涙がでてきます。
息子の日本語の先生だっただけでなく、仕事上の上司として、いろんなことを教えてくださいました。私が今、ペイロールとして勉強し、仕事をしているのは、本当に典子さんの助言のおかげです。もう、仕事のこと、子供のことなど、一緒にお話しができないことが信じられません。
いつも典子さんに感謝しています。本当に、ありがとうございました。

高校一年生で同じクラスで、春休みには女子６人で信州の旅に行って楽しかったね。
のんこがラグビー部のマネージャーに誘ってくれたから、クラスが違っても一緒にいられる時間がありました。 ありがとう。
高校卒業後お会いする機会がなかったので、私の中で、のんこはずっと高校生のままです。
いつも笑顔で明るくてまわりを和ませてくれてたのんこ。
再会したいね、と七夕にメールを交わしていたのに、かなわなくて残念です。
飛んで行きたいけれど、ちょっと遠いよ・・・のんこ。
だから、故郷日本で、心からご冥福をお祈りいたします。
