peacefully at St. Joseph’s Life Care on June 7, 2014 in her 92nd year. Beloved wife for 66 years of the late Howard Alexander (2007). Much loved mother of Kathryn Robinson of Brantford, Wendy Percival (Murray) of Paris and Robert Alexander (Rosemary Hopkins) of Severn Bridge. Cherished Grandma of Justin Percival (Lindsay McGuiness) of Brantford. Ruth also leaves behind six great grandchildren. Predeceased by brothers Lloyd and Ted Simpson and sisters Sadie Elsie and Erma Bellamy. Ruth was a long time member of Balfour United Church where she had been active in the U.C. W. At Ruth’s request there is to be no visitation and cremation has taken place. A private family interment will take place at a later date in Cayuga Cemetery with Howard. Donations to a charity of your choice would be gratefully appreciated.

My Aunt Ruth was a sweet wonderful person who had a terrific positive attitude and an almost child-like innocence about how the world works. We both loved to decorate our snail mail letters with all kinds of cute stickers and puzzle over why life has to be so difficult when it is really just a matter of faith and trust in our loved ones. Aunt Ruth was such a nurturing mother and grandmother and her legacy will carry on for many generations. She lived through the challenges of poverty and hardship and never let it get her down. May she rest in peace.
