Elvira Papaleo
It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of Elvira (Vera) Papaleo at the age of 84. She passed peacefully in her home in Etobicoke where she lived for over 40 years. She is survived by her 3 children, Nick, Sam and Mary (Mike), her loving grandchildren Michael, Sara, Andrew, Alex, Christina, Matthew and Eric and great grandchild Delilah. Her brothers Franco and Aldo, her sister Mary and nephews Tony and Ricardo. Predeceased by husband Bruno (50 years) and brother Antonio.
Elvira was born in Isca, Italy and came to Canada in 1953 where she married and began her life with her husband Bruno. She began her hairdressing career while raising her children and creating a loving home for her family. Her faith in God, family and friends filled her life with great joy and happiness. Along with her passion for good food, song and dance and unconditional love for people made her so special to everyone she knew. She will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held at St John’s Chapel 737 Dundas St E. Mississauga on Monday April 5th between 6pm – 9pm. Service will be held on Tuesday at Nativity of Our Lord Church, 480 Rathburn Rd, Etobicoke at 11:00am.
Um…in no particular order: Dear Mary, Nick, Sam, and family: I only just heard about your lovely mother’s passing. I always thought she was beautiful inside and out…stunning in a Zsa Zsa Gaboresque way, always quick to offer a cookie or to pray a rosary for me in her unwavering belief that food and faith could fix anything. She was one of the better people to walk this earth, and I am so very sorry that I found out too late to have attended her funeral. My condolences. Love (Mario’s daughter) Tera
Sorry for your Lost.
