Dear Brian, Mary, Cathy & family,
We are deeply saddened for the loss of our beloved Mark. He touched all our lives in many different ways.
Mark has always been there for us. He would help with renovations, give advice, express his political views, and talk about being sent here from Alpha Centauri. He was so amusing that my family and I enjoyed every minute we shared with him.
I will never forget when I hired a crew to renovate (underpin) my basement in the beaches. I ended up having to redo the project and had a Work Order on my house. It was a very stressful time for me. Mark told me that he would fix it for me. We spent about 2 months in my basement underpinning. Not only did he do most of the physical labor, but he helped me manage all further renovations. He made me realize that there is nothing that can’t be done.
He was comical, intellectual, personable, and always made me feel like I was an important part of his life. In all the years that I’ve none Mark, he never missed calling me on my birthday to wish me a happy birthday.
He often spoke of his great nieces and nephews (Reed, Kaden, Jacob and Kathryn. I had the pleasure of hearing about Kathryn’s first day of daycare. He used to send me pictures of them always putting a smile on my face. I’m so glad I had an opportunity to meet them all.
Mark will be deeply missed and never forgotten. Rest in peace Mark.
Dearest Mary, Brian and Cathy,
My condolences to you all for losing your amazing brother and other members of your family for losing such a wonderful uncle and great uncle. Thank you for often including me in your family gatherings. I am heartbroken to lose such a wonderful kindred spirit such as Mark. We spent much time together these last few years talking about everything and anything, whether we were going for a walk, sharing a meal, listening to music, or just sharing a laugh. He was, a caring, wonderfully compassionate soul, who I will miss terribly for the rest of my life.
He’d make jokes about how the commander was watching him and he was really just here on earth to do his bidding. But we all knew this was his quirky sense of humour which made us feel like we were in on his special brand of humour.
He may not have realized as I battled my insomnia many nights, that he was such a rock for me. He often listened and offered advice with much kindness and compassion.
He had such a wonderful gift of making me feel so important. He was extremely generous with his time, especially with projects around the house, which others would find dreary, he would approach with enthusiasm. As a great storyteller, he was able to make you forget your own troubles. Mark, I was so lucky to have met you and have you in my life. I’d like to think that we will meet again, and until that time, I picture you, amusing everyone with fantastical tales. In Peace, may you leave this shore.
My condolences to Marks family. I worked with Mark at Simard. He always had a story or was philosophizing about something.
Mark you will be missed and in our thoughts for a long time.
Yours truly

We are all so sorry to hear about Mark. His voice, chuckles, stature, and his truly all encompassing hugs he gave his little redheaded cousin all these years. I will never forget. I know he is with them all now, telling uncle Bruce about how his children all grew up to be such amazing people. Love you all.

Dear Mary, Brian and Cathy,
I was deeply saddened by the passing of Mark. I still remember our Gahan get-togethers and he would roll in the door and quickly start making jokes and having a blast! All those great times we all had together. No words can express the feeling of loss at this time, but the memories will be forever with us and the happy times we all had with Mark. He will be truly missed.
Much Love Ellen, Charlie, Shannon and Krista
The memories that I have of my uncle Mark always bring smiles to my face. From when I was younger telling me that the “alligator” on his shirt would eat me if I got too close. To when I got older how he told me that I was from a different planet. To recently his interactions with my kids. They got to experience great laughter and fun with uncle Mark. He will be missed dearly. His great humour, his knowledge on daily events, his passion for the leafs, and his love for his family. Love you uncle Mark.
Love,
Lindsay Reed Kaden Kevin.
My sincere condolences to the Gahan family. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Mark my friend, it’s been a real pleasure knowing you the last 5 years working at Simard. I will truly miss our late night rides home from work, with tears flowing down my cheeks with all the jokes and fun humor you had to offer. A true LEAF fan who loved his team, but more importantly Loved the game of Hockey. From Red Kelly stories to all of the late greats Mark talked about will be with me forever. Mark loved his music! Mark was a hard worker, and always willing to help others. Mark trained me the first day at work and made me feel welcomed and made it an easy adjustment for me starting a new job and I will forever be grateful.
Mark.. may you rest in peace my friend. You will always be remember and never forgotten. Until we meet again friend.
Dear Brian, Mary & Cathy,

The loss of a loved one is such a hard blow, may the memories help you heal.
Please accept our sincere condolences.
Mark was never without his sense of humour. He was very generous with his time to help others. Mark had a great depth of intellect particularly regarding current events. I will miss our political discussions and will continue to follow the ‘Duran’.
Mark certainly marched to his own drummer, being steadfastly true to himself. He was authentic and certainly an inspiration to me..
Bless, bless.
