Brenneman, John Mark

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of John Mark Brenneman, a beloved father, grandfather, and community member. Mark or J. Mark, as he was known by, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2024, at Woodstock Hospital in Woodstock, Ontario, surrounded by his loving daughters.
Mark was born on May 29, 1951, in Milverton, Ontario, to Kenneth and Emmalene Brenneman. Mark lived a life of laughter, love, faith and occasional mischief. Throughout his life, he wore many hats, excelling as a skilled Certified Tool & Die Maker and a successful Realtor, serving the Cambridge and surrounding area for over 30 years. In addition to his professional accomplishments, Mark had a deep faith in God and was called to missions through the Eastern Mennonite board, where he dedicated three years of his life to serving others in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. He was an avid baseball fan and had a sweet tooth, enjoying a good pie or ice cream cone.
Mark is survived by his four daughters, Melanie Brenneman of Stratford, Martha (Aaron) Baker of Komoka, Mayra (Steve) Craig of Plattsville, and Sophia Rook of Brantford, as well as his grandchildren, Blake and Seth Baker, Hailey Craig, and Zane and Zella Rook.  He is also survived by his sisters, Ruth (Dan) Schrock and Mary (Myron) Jantzi as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Ken and Emmalene Brenneman, and his brother-in-law, James Brubacher.  In honoring Mark’s wishes, no visitation or formal funeral service will be held, but rather the immediate family will gather at a private ash-scattering ceremony after his cremation to remember and celebrate his life.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the medical staff at Woodstock Hospital and the residents of Ingrids Place in Plattsville, Ontario, for their kindness and care for Mark. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Woodstock Hospital, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or the Lung Association of Canada, in Mark’s memory. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to inspire those who knew and loved him.
When Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation and take me home, what joy shall fill my heart. Then I shall bow, in humble adoration and then proclaim, my God, how great thou art – How Great Thou Art Hymnal
