On April 23rd, 2024, we lost Gabriela Boar, age 57, beloved mother and wife. She passed away at Credit Valley Hospital after a long hard-fought battle with illness.
Born September 24, 1966 to Sandor & Ileana Reiter in Gurahont, Romania, Gabriela spent much of her early life living with her family in Buteni. There she developed a love for nature that followed her throughout her life. Gabriela earned her Masters of Science in software engineering from the Polytechnic University in Timisoara. From there she led a successful career working for several companies in Romania, as well as in Canada. In 1985, she met Eugen Boar, who would become her loving husband in 1993, and accompany her on their journey together relocating to Canada in 1996. In 2000 they welcomed their lovely daughter, Alice into the world. Gabriela enjoyed a happy life together with her family in their Mississauga home.
A woman of many talents, Gabriela was a talented writer, cook, artist, and of course had an amazing gift for software engineering. She also loved travelling and experiencing different parts of the world that not many others get the opportunity to. She was also an avid reader, never leaving the house without a good book or her trusty kindle.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Ileana Reiter, and her father, Sandor Reiter. She is survived by her husband, Eugen Boar, her daughter, Alice Boar, as well as her extended family in Romania.
A visitation will be held on Monday April 29th, from 6-9pm at St. John’s Dixie Cemetery & Crematorium in the Magnolia Chapel, 737 Dundas Street East in Mississauga (at Cawthra). Funeral services will be held the following day at 11am, friends and family are welcome from 10am, at the same location. She was always someone who saw the bright side of things, and was always there to provide the love and support others needed. She will forever be in our hearts, as we remember her and remember her brilliant smile as well as her endless kindness.

Dragă Gabi,
Am fost vecine la Timisoara, am lucrat în aceeaşi echipă la Alcatel si am făcut excursii minunate în lunile de formare. Îmi voi aminti mereu cu drag acei ani în care ne distram, nu aveam griji si viața ne parea lungă si frumoasă. Te-ai stins mult prea devreme si nu e drept!
Să te odihneşti în loc de lumină si iubire, iar Eugen si Alice să aibă puterea de a duce mai departe dorințele si gândurile tale…
